Keep your room locked at all times. Report lost or stolen keys and ID cards to your GRF, Cornell Police, and the Bethe House Office. If you lose your keys or they are stolen, the cylinder will be replaced at your expense.

During its hours of operation, the Bethe House Office can provide you with a temporary lock-out key and/or card for a fee of $5.00 or one lock-out voucher.

If the House Office is not open, the GRF on-call can be reached from the yellow campus phones located outside the main doorways or from your cell phone at 607-327-1729.

Your mailbox number is the same as your room number. All mail should be addressed as follows:

Room Number and Building (e.g. 113 Hans Bethe House)
Ithaca, NY 14853

Your mailboxes are on the first floor, right outside the dining hall and by the elevator. If you receive a package, postage due, registered, express or certified mail, or any special delivery, a delivery slip will be placed in your mailbox. Please bring this delivery slip along with your Cornell ID to the House Office during its regular hours to pick up your items.

If you have any outgoing mail, it can be dropped off at the House Office as well. Stamps may be purchased at the office if necessary.

US Mail arrives Monday through Saturday at approximately 2:00pm and UPS, FedEx, and DHL arrive Monday through Friday throughout the day. All mail and package slips are sorted and in mailboxes by 5:00pm daily.

Please be sure that your mailbox key is in the opened or unlocked position before closing the mailbox. If the key is turned to the locked position and the door is closed, it may result in "pinching" the lock so that it will not lock without being repaired. If this occurs, please report it to the House Office immediately so that it can be secured to protect your privacy.

There are parking meters available on Stewart Avenue. Twenty-five cents is worth an hour of parking.

No pets allowed.

Laundry machines are available in the basement, accessible via the elevator or the stairs by the House Office. Money may be put on your laundry account online on the Campus Life page, and it will be available immediately.

Please do not leave valuables unattended in common areas.

Bicycle storage rooms are available in the House and may be accessed using your swipe card. Please check with the House Office for more information.
