House Fellow
Instructional Designer (eCornell) & Developmental Editor

Amanda first joined Bethe as a GRF in 2018 while completing her doctoral program. She is beyond excited to return as a House Fellow and reconnect with the Bethe community in this new role. As an Instructional Designer for eCornell, Amanda partners with faculty from across the University to build online courses that range from professional certificate programs to graduate-level courses. Her favorite part of the job is collaborating with interesting people in an array of different fields and creating original courses that help students meet their professional goals. Amanda also works as a developmental editor and runs her own editing business, working with scholars in the humanities on their book and article manuscripts. Her own scholarly background is in Italian literature and philosophy, trauma studies, feminist studies, and modern European history. And when she has free time, she works on her own book manuscript on comedy, Cynicism, and freedom of expression.

But most of her free time is dedicated to playing with her fierce Border Collie, Aoífe the Warrior princess. She and Aoífe practice agility and regularly play frisbee on campus as well as in the Botanic Gardens. Amanda is currently working on upping her baking skills, becoming a healthier human, and drinking more water. She and her husband are originally from Sag Harbor, NY but they love living in Ithaca and being so close to great hiking spots like Buttermilk Falls. Amanda completed her Ph.D. in Romance Studies (Italian) at Cornell and her B.A. in Global Liberal Studies & Italian Literature at NYU.
