Elizabeth Parr
LASSP is an interdisciplinary research center within Cornell Research & Innovation, one of the two research arms of the Physics Department and the administrative home of the Kavli Institute at Cornell for Nanoscale Science (KIC) and the Cornell NEXT Nano Initiative. In her role, Elizabeth oversees all aspects of the department’s day-to-day operations, including human resources, research grants and other sponsored programs, finance and budget, and facilities. She partners with the faculty director to keep LASSP on track for today and tomorrow.
Elizabeth grew up in Ohio and moved to New York City where she nurtured a love of art and graduated from NYU. Her work in higher ed began after a move to Boston and a serendipitous placement as a temp at MIT that turned into a career. She has lived in Ithaca since 2012 and has three boys that have grown up attending House Dinners. Talk to Elizabeth (or she may talk to you!) about administrative careers in higher ed, living in France, cows on campus, elementary school basketball, and swimming in Cayuga lake.
